‘Fortnite’ Chapter 2, Week 10 ‘Stretch Goals’ Challenges Revealed And How To Solve Them
Fortnite seemed like it was going to run out of weekly challenges as of today, but some new ones have just gone live now. But they are….a little different than normal challenges. This list is called “Stretch Goals,” reminiscent of how Epic is stretching this season to be absurdly long lasting until February. And these new challenges reflect that.
Though these challenges give the same 52,000 XP as others, most of them are much more difficult and will take longer to complete. Right now there are seven listed, but there’s another batch of Prestige Challenges that are hidden away that are going to be even harder. As of right now we’re not sure what those are or what the rewards are for them yet, as you have to have completed all the others to unlock them. I’m going to go look for a datamine that says what they might be.
As for the current list? Here they are in all their glory:
Deal damage to opponents (0/5,000)Achieve Shotgun Specialist or AR Specialist by dealing damage with Shotguns or Assault Rifles (0/10)Achieve Pistol Specialist or SMG Specialist by dealing damage with Pistols or SMGs (0/10)Achieve Sniper Specialist or Explosive Specialist by dealing damage with Snipers or Explosives (0/10)Catch Weapons from Fishing Spots (0/10)Eliminate opponents (0/25)Outlast opponents in Solos, Duos or Squads (0/2,000)
So how to do them? I mean the answer is clearly just to play a whole lot. These are really nothing special. There’s nothing to find, no wacky ways to play, you just need to use a large diversity of weapons, picking your favorite of the two listed for each of those challenges to get Specialist, and going from there. Sniper and Explosive may be the hardest for many, but we’ll see.
Catching weapons from Fishing Spots should be fairly easy, as should outlasting and eliminations, as you’re going to be doing that anyway if you’re playing this much.
What I’m not clear on is the point of this, as we don’t know what the reward is besides XP for doing all these challenges. Maybe better rewards await in the Prestige list, but for now, I’m not sure why anyone would bend over backward to do these, as given how much time is left in the season, I doubt that XP is going to be in short supply for almost anyone who is playing consistently.
A few days from now we will see the launch of Fortnite’s 14 day Winterfest challenges which are a little more interesting than these. For now, just uh, go kill some stuff, I guess.
Update: Supposedly these are the Prestige challenges which reward 800,000(!) XP each. I have no idea why anyone is going to need this much XP, but to land that much you have to put up some truly wild numbers.
