Fortnite theorists may have uncovered a connection between the Marauders introduced in Season 3 and co-op survival mode, Save The World.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 introduced Marauders into the game, which has been a nuisance for many players. Marauders spawn from the capsules that appear out of the rifts in-game and act similar to henchmen, zombies and players.

Marauders don’t protect a specific location but instead will chase and go looking for players to eliminate as they are equipped with weapons. In addition, Marauders will be able to revive knocked down Marauders or build and emote to regain health.

Youtuber TheSmithPlays revealed information about the Marauders that could possibly link them to the co-op survival mode, Save The World. The biggest shock comes with the Marauders’ character and face behind the mask. Hidden behind the skull or animal masks, Marauders are actually players from Save The World mode. TheSmithPlays revealed that the Heavy and Assault Marauders were masked Kyle and Southie from the Save The World survival mode.

The player comes up with two theories. The first is that Marauders come to the Battle Royale from a different time than Save The World, whilst the second theory is that the Marauders are mercenaries that don’t want their simulation being disturbed.

Players are hoping the game features Marauders in a more definite and upfront storyline as they are currently not being well received. In addition, players are hoping more is revealed about both to see if their theories are correct as Season 3 is still young, meaning that there is still a lot of time for more updates to be released.
