Fortnite: Battle Royale’s Season 4 draws to a close at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET today during the Galactus event. The arrival of Galactus, the planet-eating cosmic antagonist at the center of this season’s Marvel-themed mayhem, will lay the foundation for what will become Season 5, but what will actually go down when that time comes is unknown. If it’s anything like previous Fortnite season finales, things will get shaken up for sure, with a large-scale fight most likely and parts of the map liable to change or be destroyed completely. Fans are expecting something along the lines of an “interactive Marvel movie,” so you’ll want to make sure you get there early and ready to participate if you want to see how it all goes down.

Galactus will arrive in special event servers today, December 1. To get there on time, Epic recommends logging in at least a full hour ahead of time to avoid getting locked out. The special playlist for the event will be available 30 minutes before the event’s start time, so you do need to arrive early if you want to queue up. Players have missed previous events due to server capacity. Don’t let it happen to you!

How To Watch The Galactus Event

If you won’t be able to make it into the live server, you can watch a streamer take part of the season-ending event on Twitch. Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff and Ali “SypherPK” Hasan are two of many popular streamers who will be attending the event and broadcasting it on their channels. You can browse through Twitch today to find other Fortnite streamers who’ll be there as well–there will be no shortage.

Fortnite players have been trying to predict what will happen at today’s event. There are a few theories, but no one is quite sure what Galactus will do once he arrives. Players, however, will be happy to be done with Season 4’s long grind no matter what happens.

Will The Galactus Event Happen on iOS?

Sadly, those on iOS will have to rely on streams to follow along with the Galactus event. Due to the ongoing Epic-Apple legal battle, Fortnite has been removed from the App Store, and while it’s still playable on iPhone and iPad to some extent, it’s no longer receiving updates. That means this Marvel-themed season, and Galactus’s impending arrival, never happened on iOS. While a related legal fight also saw Fortnite removed from the Google Play Store, Android users have other means for downloading and updating Fortnite, so experiencing this event firsthand won’t be a problem.

What’s Going To Happen?

While Fortnite leaks are common, it’s anyone’s guess as to exactly how the Galactus live event will play out. The big purple guy will no doubt arrive and wreak havoc, presumably to be fought off by the various Marvel heroes who have shown up this season–Thor, Iron Man, and so on. The fight could be what changes the map, if that does indeed happen for Season 5, but we’ll have to wait to see just which landmarks or named locations get wiped off the island.

Galactus Skin

One thing you might be able to expect is a new Galactus skin, if a leak is any indication. As shared on Twitter recently, this event might bring with it a skin based on the villain, although it’s unclear if it will only exist as part of today’s event or if it’ll be something you can acquire and use moving forward.

Season 5 Starts Soon

Season 5 is right around the corner; it’s expected to start on December 2 or December 3, although an official date hasn’t been formally announced. One thing that will change is Epic Games will be offering a monthly subscription model for Fortnite. Players can purchase it and receive the new battle pass and extra V-Bucks, although they can still pay for the battle pass individually if they’d like.
