Fortnite is back online after about three hours of downtime to implement the latest patch, version 14.20

This latest update has added Wolverine as a world boss, which means you can get his sweet claws as a mythic item upon defeating him.

Also added in this update is a new superhero-themed LTM, preparations for the BTS video premier and getting things ready for the third birthday of Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode.

Fortnite has been offline since 9am BST this morning, only coming back online at around midday.

The download update for V14.20 is now live and servers are back online, which means players can start the patch downloading and get back to winning some games.

The Fortnite Server Status Twitter account shared the good news on Twitter.

As for what’s being added, we have some brief patch notes which were sent to certain content creators before downtime begins.

According to Fortnite leaker @iFireMonkey on Twitter, the following changes are coming in patch version 14.20.

Fortnite V14.20 patch notes

Confront Weapon X deep in the Weeping Woods, take him out, and shred through your opponents with Wolverine’s Claws mythic powers. Just like other bosses on the map, they drop mythic items relating to their superpowers.

A new LTM is coming into the rotating which sounds like Conquest from the Battlefield games. Earn points by capturing and holding outposts in a new Marvel-themed game mode.

During your island domination, you’ll begin the game with one random superpower and be able to pick up more as the game progresses to build your perfect loadout.

Special birthday-themed plans are lined up this weekend to celebrate the third anniversary of Fortnite.

There will be new challenges to earn XP, new rewards and cake.

Llama-Rama starts September 26

Huge K-pop band BTS will debut a new music video in Fortnite

This event is to coincide with Rocket League going free to play on the Epic Games Store.

There also appears to be a hidden message in the patch notes, which iFireMonkey claims spells out the word ‘Daywalker’.

This, of course, would be a direct reference to Blade, who is a vampire frequently referred to as such since he can walk in the daylight instead of bursting into flames.

These are just the key updates coming to the game according to Epic, but there are sure to be some more bug fixes and other additions squirrelled away in this big update.

Check out the public Trello board for more information on bug fixes addressed in this patch.
