New Fortnite leaks point to an upcoming event and more information about the Faction War and ‘Infiltration’ LTM.

The Fortnite Season 2 game files pointed to an upcoming Faction War event, which was no surprise when you see the locked terminal on the Battle Pass screen. Most fans were expecting something like this, and the original leaks confirmed as much.

Fortnite v12.10 released today, March 3, and brought some more information about what we can expect.

The first piece of information was the return of the LTM used for the Star Wars event. This doesn’t mean that Star Wars is coming back, but it does point to a future event on the horizon.

Star Wars isn’t coming back, but this means we might be getting another event soon

Naturally, this links up with the Faction War event and LTM that we saw leaked in the v12.00 game files. This isn’t all we got, however.

We also saw some information about what exactly this event and LTM will involve. The LTM looks to be called ‘Infiltration’ or ‘Operation,’ but we don’t know what kind of game it will be.

The objective of ‘Faction War’ is to gather Spy Tech during Operation matches. You will choose Ghost or Shadow and secretly support them as you gather intel for your alliance.

– YOUR SPY TECH CAN BE USED IN OPERATIONS MATCHES AND CAN SPAWN IN SPY MODES

– PLAY OPERATION MATCHES TO EARN INTEL AND UNLOCK NEW SPY TECH

We also saw some achievements linked to this new mode. You will be able to disguise yourself as a double agent to earn an achievement. There’s also an achievement for winning 10 Infiltration matches during Season 2.

Again, we don’t know what any of this means, just yet. We’re still waiting on more information or an official announcement from Epic.

New Achievements linked to the Infiltration LTM:

The popular Getaway LTM also received an update with this patch, which points to the possibility that it could be rebranded as the ‘Infiltration’ or ‘Operation’ LTM.

This would make sense, as the objective of Getaway is to escape with an item. This item could easily be changed to intel for the Faction War.

The Getaway LTM has had strings updated for v12.10.

It is highly likely for this LTM to return soon as not only was the strings updated but the new map is already supported for the LTM, with supply drops avoiding water.

Again, we’ll have to wait for further word from Epic on all of this. If the two aren’t linked, then we can expect the Getaway LTM to enter the rotation in the next few days.

It’s exciting to see that Fortnite will be picking up the pace this season. After a long, dry Season 1, we finally have something to look forward to.
