Ninja wants old Fortnite weapon back to counter controller players
Fortnite streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins has offered a potential solution to controller aim assist problems in the battle royale game, arguing not for a nerf to the feature, but instead a solid weapon to counter it on PC.
The popular internet personality, who broadcasts regularly on his Mixer channel, has voiced his fair share of criticisms during the debut season of Chapter 2, relating to bugs, in-game issues and more.
However, after a number of PC players decided to plug controllers in instead of their mouse and keyboards in order to take advantage of the aim assist feature on the pads, he has put forward a solution that Epic Games might want to take into account for Season 2.
Epic Games Epic Games shuffled the weapon pack when Fortnite Chapter 2 started.
During a broadcast, Blevins was seen reminiscing about a decision taken by the game’s developers to bring back the Infantry Rifle in the past. It was vaulted at the beginning of Chapter 2, although the streamer thinks we need to see it come back soon, or something similar.
It didn’t take long, though, before he considered what it would be like if it returned some time in the near future, suggesting it could be a solution to some problems players are experiencing on PC.
“My main reason for why it should be in the game, like it’s a necessity, because it is a direct counter to aim assist slash console players that rely on their zooming in.

He continued: “Am I wrong? Am I a bad guy for saying that? PC players need a gun that is pure aim to combat the heavy aim assist players who play on PC and plug controllers in. I’m not saying nerf aim assist.
“It was the only gun in the game that actually relied on skill from the mouse. In order to combat a controller’s aim on the PC, we need a new Infantry Rifle.”
Epic Games Will the Infantry Rifle come back to Fortnite?
Whether or not Epic Games will decide to unvault the Infantry, or perhaps release a new weapon that works in a similar way to it, for the beginning of Season 2 remains to be seen.
One thing is for sure, though, and that’s Ninja thinks it would be the right call to balance things out.
