Nagpur: A 24-year-old woman who was addicted to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), a famous online multiplayer game, has committed suicide by hanging herself to the pipe at the terrace of her house on Tuesday afternoon at Pardi.
Komal Chahande was a third year polytechnic student at a college in Nandanvan.
Cops said, no suicide not was recovered from the spot, hence the reason behind the drastic step is still unknown.
Reportedly, Komal was a PUBG addict and used to play the game on her mobile phone for hours, and this might have affected her studies as she had some backlog.
According to police, on Tuesday, Komal went on the terrace of her house and started playing the game on her mobile phone. She later hanged herself to the pipe with a long scarf. Komal’s elder sister started searching for her and went on the terrace only to find her hanging. She raised an alarm and family members along with neighbours rushed to the spot and brought the body down.
One of the neighbours also informed police control room and gave information to Pardi police who rushed to the spot. Cops conducted spot panchnama and sent the body to a hospital where the post-mortem was conducted on Wednesday.
Pardi police have currently registered a case of accidental death and launched an investigation into the matter.
