Stranger Things and Fortnite crossover released for season 3
If you’re one of the Stranger Things fans who has already binge watched all of season 3 and still wants more, we’ve got some good news for you.
Netflix has teamed up with Epic Games to bring a whole lot of #content from the show into Fortnite, the Earth-shatteringly popular online shooter.
Earlier in the week, fans noticed some familiar looking portals appear within the game, and now the game’s official Twitter account has revealed that “that gate has been opened”.
What that means for players is that they can purchase a load of Stranger Things branded items in the game’s store, including skins for Chief Hopper and the Demogorgon.
At the moment at least, it doesn’t look like there are any new modes, such as throwing waves of beasties from the Upside Down at players and tasking them with survival, for example. We guess if enough people buy the Demogorgon skin then you’ve basically got that anyway.
Previously, the people behind Fortnite mixed the game up for a handful of crossover promotions with the Avengers movies, including multiple modes featuring the Mad Titan Thanos. A John Wick crossover also added a limited-time assassination mode which was a lot of fun.
